The University Offices building was built in 1964 and was the administrative centre of the University, home to the Vice-Chancellor and Council chamber. It was demolished in 2017/2018 to make way for the new Chancellery building which was opened in 2020.
The outside of the building was the site of many student protests throughout the 1960s, 70s and 80s. Students even 'invaded' and occupied the building in 1969, 1986 and 1988.
