Display featuring a linocut print proof and carved linoleum block for La Mia Prima Lezione by Angela Cavalieri. An Australian printmaker of Italian heritage known for incorporating text into linocut processes, Cavalieri studied printmaking at the Victorian College of the Arts (1981–1983) and has exhibited widely in Australia and internationally, including at the 2011 Venice Biennale. Her work is held in major permanent collections including the National Gallery of Australia and the National Gallery of Victoria. This collection documents her creative process through original artworks, sketches, templates, and linoleum blocks used in her artists' books.
