1. to consider and report upon the activities of the Careers and Appointments Office and to consider the relevance of the functions performed by the Unit in connection with the finding of permanent, part-time and vacation employment for graduates and students in relation to functions performed by Commonwealth and State instrumentalities in the employment field;
2. to make recommendations regarding the function to be performed in future;
3. to consider and report upon the various aspects of Counselling undertaken by the Counselling Office;
4. to make recommendations regarding the counselling functions to be performed in the future and including the class and classes of persons whom the Counselling Service should see;
5. to consider whether and in what way it might be advantageous to integrate the direction and activities of both offices;
6. to consider appropriate staffing levels of these services.
Between February and May 1979 the committee met five times, received submissions and held discussions with directors of the Careers and Appointments Office and the Counselling Service. The committee delivered its final report to the Committee of Deans in June 1979.
