The library was officially opened by Sir John Eccles, on Saturday 4th April, 1964. The Library establishment consists of the Sir Louis Matheson Library, the Hargrave/Andrew Library, the Law Library and the Biomedical Library. In addition, branch libraries are located on each of the university's remaining campuses.
