Biography
Dr E.H.M. (Tim) Ealey was born in 1927 in Killara NSW. He received a BSc in 1948 and a MSc in 1954, both from the University of Sydney, and his PhD from the University of Western Australia in 1963. Before coming to Monash Dr Ealey was a biologist with ANARE, acted as biological editor on expeditions and spent eight months on board 'Discovery II' as the ANARE observer. He was a research officer with the Wildlife Survey Division of CSIRO. Dr Ealey came to Monash as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Zoology and Comparative Physiology in 1960. In 1974 he became part-time coordinator of the Master of Environmental Science Course. At his early retirement in 1987 Dr Ealey was foundation Director of the Graduate School of Environmental Science. Dr Ealey died in 2020 at the age of 93.
