Widespread discussions followed and in November 1970 the Vice-Chancellor reported to Council on the outcome of the Commission. At the same meeting Council appointed a sub-committee of Professor R. R. Andrew, Sir Brian Hone, and Dr R. B. Nethercott to meet with the dissenting student members of the Commission. The three Council members met informally in November and in December 1970 met with the three students concerned to discuss the recommendations of the Commission and their implementation. The sub-committee forwarded recommendations arising from this meeting to Council and did not meet again.
