Biography

Ada Phyllis Booth graduated B.Science in April 1943 and B.Arts (Hons) in 1961 from the University of Melbourne. She worked at the University of Melbourne with the following positions: Laboratory Assistant in 1942; Part-time Demonstrator in Physics 1953; Senior Demonstrator in 1955; Assistant Lecturer in 1961 and Lecturer in 1974. She retired from the Physics School on 31 January 1987. Ada Booth was born 31 October 1921 and died in 2008. She bequeathed a large collection of Slavic books and journals to Monash Library and a large benefaction. The University of Melbourne also has archival records of Ada Booth relating to the teaching of physics.
