Entity titlePublications CommitteeEntity identifier389Entity typeAgencyDate range2005 - 2010DescriptionA Faculty Handbook Overview Committee, made up of faculty representatives and chaired by a member of the University Secretariat held its last meeting in March 1995. The committee was re-convened as the Course Publications Overview Committee in July 1996, on the advice of the Special Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor regarding publications, Professor G. Egan. Its terms of reference were expanded to include responsibility for a wide range of university publications in both print and electronic formats, and its membership expanded to reflect this. The CPO Committee reported to the Academic Board through the Deputy Vice-Chancellor. In September 1996 the committee was renamed University Publications Overview Committee [unclear what subsequently happened to this committee - no record in Academic Board papers].
A new university Publications Committee first met in November 2005, taking over the responsibilities of the former Publications Management and Undergraduate Handbook Steering committees. Its responsibilities included setting broad parameters for form, content and production of course-related publications including those associated with CUPID and Course Finder. Membership included representatives from faculties and central administrative units including Academic Programs Support, Student Administration and Marketing and Recruitment. The committee reported to the university's Strategy and Resources Committee.
This committee was disbanded in July 2010.
