Biography

Gordon Troup was born on 25 February 1932. He graduated with a BSc (Melb) in 1954, MSc (London) in 1958 and DSc (Melb) in 1972. Prior to his appointment at Monash, he worked with the British Ministry of Supply at the Royal Aircraft Establishment in Farnborough, England and later with the Weapons Research Establishment in South Australia. He was appointed to the Department of Physics as Lecturer in 1961, Senior Lecturer in 1963, Reader in 1969. In 1969 he was a Monash Senior Staff Exchange Scholar in Russia. He retired in December 1993. Gordon Troup died on 21 December 2015.
