The committee was disestablished in 1977.
In 1986 a new Naming Committee was established with Dr J. E. Isaac as Chairman, to consider all proposals referred to it by Council or the VC for the naming of buildings, parts of buildings, or other distinct sections of the University, and to make recommendations to Council.
This version of the committee was disestablished in 1997.
