Series identifierMON7Series titleUniversity Health Service correspondence filesSeries descriptionThe Health Service was established in 1961 and this series was probably commenced in 1963 when the service began operating on a full time basis. The series comprises all correspondence and working papers relating to the administration and functional responsibilities of the Health Service. Routine papers such as budget summary reports and duplicate copies of minutes of meetings are disposed of under the terms of the approved disposal schedule. Files retained in the archives include those which reflect the administrative history of the Health Service and are of historical interest as regards student welfare and health services at universities.
Files are identified by a single number with an alphabetical prefix. The areas of Health Service activity are broken into six subject groups. Each group is denoted by one or two alphabetical designates e.g. Communications is 'C', Medical Examination is 'ME'.
