Files cover a range of subjects but the majority appear to be concerned with staff and student matters. Files include memos, correspondence, working papers, and agenda and minutes. Committee papers form a large proportion of the series, they include meetings of the Faculty Executive, 1998-2007; Board of Examiners, 1967-85; Biomedical Library Advisory Committee, 1970-85; meetings of Professors, 1976-85; Selection Committee, 1968-86; Boards of Examiners, 1967-82; promotions committees, 1976-82; postgraduate affairs, 1977-81; and various ad hoc committees.
Following the appointment of Professor R. Porter in 1989, the Dean's correspondence and that of other senior administrative staff of the faculty was included in a single faculty office correspondence series. Some files from this series have been incorporated into the subsequent multiple number series (MON 997).
