SERIES DETAILS
Series identifierMON1262Series titleCorrespondence files related to Aboriginal AffairsSeries descriptionThis series was created when Mr Roper was seconded from LaTrobe University to the Federal Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Gordon Bryant in 1973. His brief was to prepare a report on the education of aborigines. Two later files (1974-1985) related to aboriginal education is also included with the series. Files are arranged loosely by subject and are apparently only a fragment of the original series. Much of the material is soliciting reference material from various sources including Navajo Indian educators. Correspondence covers studies and reports on Aboriginal languages, state grants, recommendations to G. Bryant, reports from Aboriginal colleges, replies to a survey of reference material relating to Aboriginal studies in technical school libraries.
