MON1424: Personal papers, correspondence and artist's files
SERIES DETAILS
Series identifierMON1424Series titlePersonal papers, correspondence and artist's filesSeries descriptionA collection of papers, correspondence, exhibition catalogues, gallery postcard invitations, copies of journal articles, newspaper & magazine clippings featuring artists, slides, negatives and photographs of artwork etc. Many files contain only one item, as Plant previously filed under the artist's surname initial - e.g. A Artists, B Artists etc. These 'bag' files originally were indexed up to a point in time, but this is ad hoc - not all items in the files were indexed and some indexed items were no longer present when processing the collection. The original indexes are [at xx] and a transcription is available at item 855. The 'bag' files were disaggregated for easier access to the artist's items.
Items are not in chronological order in the files and many items are undated. For some artists, Plant has indexed the contents of the file, but this is ad hoc [not all items in the files were indexed and some indexed items are no longer present in the file]. Where a file has been indexed by Plant, the index is in the file. A transcription of Plant's indexes is available at item 855.
Due to data field constraints, only a summary of the item types included in the files is noted in the item listing. These item types include:
