The Vice-Chancellor's Executive Committee (VCEC) was established in 2014 and is the principal management committee at Monash University, advising the Vice-Chancellor on overarching matters of University strategy, institutional planning, risk, budget, institutional performance, and major operational matters.
VCEC's Terms of Reference are to advise the Vice-Chancellor on:
the University’s strategy, strategic plan, and broad, whole-of-institution supporting plans (research plan, education plan, enterprise plan, international plan, inclusion plan, enabling plans);
the Monash Group Risk Appetite Statement and Group Risk Profile, considering the impact of Group risks on the achievement of the University’s strategy and what additional mitigation measures (if any) are required;
the annual budget and forward estimates, including the University's capital program and major projects, to ensure alignment with the University's strategic plan;
significant academic and business opportunities, including reviewing submissions for new major initiatives against the University’s strategic institutional performance against strategic outcomes and budget across the Monash Group;
significant matters relating to University management policy and procedures as well as operational matters relating to large scale changes.
Membership of VCEC includes senior management the President of the Academic Board and Faculty Deans.
