The general running of the Hall in 1971 was placed in the hands of a Committee of Management appointed by the Professorial Board. The first full-time Manager of the Hall, Mr Don Vincent, was appointed in December 1971 and continued in the position until 1986. He was succeeded by Mr Harold Karpin. In 1995 the Committee of Management was merged with the Alexander Theatre Committee to form the Performing and Creative Arts Committee, and the various areas were placed under the management of Mr Phil A'Vard, the new Director of Performing and Creative Arts. Mr Karpin left the university in 1997 and the position was discontinued [?].
The management of Robert Blackwood Hall, Alexander Theatre and George Jenkins Theatre were combined in about 1997 under the Performing Arts Precinct, which later became Monash Performing Arts (2001-2004), then Monash University Arts Centres (2005-2006), then Monash Academy of Performing Arts (2007- )
