The committee acted as adviser to the Vice-Chancellor and met to decide on applications for financial assistance by staff whose study leave had been previously approved. Staff granted such assistance were required to report back to the committee after returning from leave.
The name of the committee was amended in 1970 when new study leave rules were introduced making detailed financial assessments unnecessary for most applicants.
This committee has not met since 1977.
