As a result of the VIC Act, councils of member colleges were given control of all staffing matters formerly handled by the Victorian Education Department. The Staffing Committee was appointed by Council in April 1968 and met for the first time in May of that year. The committee dealt with all matters related to staffing including appointments, re-classifications, transfers, study leave and creation of new staff positions.
In June 1982, following the amalgamation a new Staffing Committee was appointed as a Standing Committee of Chisholm Institute of Technology Council "to advise and assist Council in matters affecting staff employed by the institute with regard generally to the development and maintenance of harmonious staff relationships". The committee was to make recommendations to Council on policies and procedures for effective staff management including appointments, promotions, transfers and terminations; classifications, salary increments and allowances; terms and conditions of employment; professional experience programs; and superannuation. The final meeting of the committee was held in June 1990.
