The committee was established at meeting 9/75 to which the Board delegated all its powers and responsibilities under the statute. Reviews of exclusion procedures were undertaken in 1993/94, in 2000 and in 2005. Terms of reference continued to relate to hearing appeals against exclusion for unsatisfactory progress on behalf of the Academic Board.
The committee became a sub-committee of Education Committee in 2006 (ref AB4/06 3.2.3.6). At the same time the Education Committee's Exclusion Procedures Working Party became the Exclusion Procedures Advisory Committee (AB 4/06 3.2.3.3.1) a sub-committee of the Education Committee's Education Policy and Programs/Policy Committee (2009- ) [in 2009 it became the Exclusion Procedures Advisory Group - ref EPPC report to EC 4/09]. New Exclusion Appeals Committee guidelines were issued by the EPPC in 2007 (EPPC 7/07 7.4.3).
