The Professorial Board subsequently established the Animal Services Committee. The committee's first meeting was held on 27 March 1975. Its terms of reference included planning and making recommendations on the policy governing development of Animal Services, including the setting of priorities in animal supply programmes and the improvement and expansion of services. Management of Animal Services was transferred from the Faculty of Medicine to be managed by a Director and technical staff who reported to the Animal Services Committee. This committee appears to have not met since 2005.
