The department itself was spread between the Alfred and Prince Henry's Hospitals. Professor Hugh Dudley took up his appointment at the Alfred in May 1963 and played a large part in devising the new clinical curriculum. In 1966 Professor Dudley was seconded to the Professional Planning Committee for a new Monash medical centre.
