The board later added to this - to advise the Vice-Chancellor on matters relating to the university's policy on publications; and to facilitate arrangements for the publication of manuscripts written by members of staff. The committee's primary responsibility was to disburse small sums to support publication by Monash staff and it also came to act as a channel for technical and commercial information to Monash authors to assist them in their dealings with publishers.
