The terms of reference of the new committee were to ' advise the Professorial Board [later the Academic Board] on all matters relating to undergraduate admissions policies'. Membership was comprised of the Chairman, a member from each of the seven faculties and the Registrar. The first meeting of the committee was held in February 1989. In 1996 (?) the terms of reference were extended to cover all matters relating to admissions, except those relating to doctoral programs. In 2002 its terms of reference are to advise Academic Board on all University student admission and progression matters except those relating to doctoral programs. The committee was disestablished in 2006 [AB4/06] and replaced by a new sub-committee of the Education Committee.
