The Discipline Committee was authorised under this regulation, to investigate matters involving misconduct by a student, on reference in writing by a member of Council, the Principal, a Head of School or Department, the Librarian, Computer Manager, Finance Manager, Registrar, Officer in Charge of Examinations, or the Committee of the Students' Representative Council. The Discipline Committee was comprised of five members, three chosen by the Principal from among the academic staff and two members from the SRC. It had the power to impose penalties or compensation for damage, and was to report to Council following meetings of the committee. Prior to 1982 decisions of the committee could be appealed through the Legislation Committee.
