Kennedy, was also appointed Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University. When the College became the university's Gippsland Campus in 1993 Professor J. L. C. Chipman took over both roles. In 1995 Professor Chipman was made Deputy Vice-Chancellor with responsibility for both Gippsland and Berwick campuses. During 1995-97 Professor Barry Dunstan acted as the DVC's Deputy and Campus Director at Gippsland with responsibility for day to day administration of the campus.
In late 1996 new Directors were appointed for each of the campuses, all reporting through the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Planning). Professor John Anderson was appointed Campus Director for Berwick and Gippsland. He was briefly replaced by Mr Robert Burnet in 2000, prior to the appointment of a new PVC for Gippsland - Professor Brian Mackenzie, who remained in the position until mid 2007. In 2008, Professor Helen Bartlett was appointed to the position. She was appointed PVC (Malaysia) in 2012 and was replaced at Gippsland by Professor Robin Pollard..
Gippsland Campus became part of Federation University in 2014.
