Biography
Harold Love was born in Brisbane on 4 August 1937 and died in Melbourne on 12 August 2007. He qualified with BA(Hons) from the University of Queensland, and gained a PhD from Oxford in 1964. Appointed as a lecturer, then Senior Lecturer in English at Monash (1964-1973), then Reader and Professor of English from 1973-2003. Professor Love was Munby Fellow in Bibliography at Cambridge University Library 1986-87; and a Member of Advisory/Editorial Boards for - Australasian Drama Studies; Academy Editions; Cambridge Studies in Eighteenth Century English Literature and Thought; English Literary Manuscripts 1100-1700; Verdi and His Major Contemporaries; Oxford Companion to Music in Australia; Restoration: Studies in English Literary Culture 1660-1700. Miscellaneous collection arranged in roughly chronological order, with a separate alpha run covering the 1990s.
Manuscript material 1963-2006
Mss printed on A4 and held in spring binders, the earliest of which are drafts for Prof. Love's doctoral dissertation (Cambridge, 1964). Also included are unpublished playscripts and poetry; notes for addresses; offprints of published journal articles; and CD copies of the Restoration Theatre Song Archive, and the Source Index to English Clandestine Satire.

Prof. Love was an active member of the group as performer, musical arranger and director. Series includes posters, handouts and programs, Newsletters for 1966-1967; and several unidentified black and white photographs of a performance.
