Mia Lindgren was the first head of school.
In 2015 public relations was removed from the school, while academic and professional writing was added. In 2018 academic and professional writing was dropped from the school.
As at 2024, the school comprises of communications & media studies, film & screen studies, journalism, and media innovation.
