Series identifierMON1Series titleAdministrative correspondence files, alpha-numeric seriesSeries descriptionThe Central Administration records system was devised by the university's first Filing Officer who was appointed at the end of 1961, the year the university opened. Earlier papers and files were included in the series and several files pre-date the series with papers dated back to 1958. The files in this series contain correspondence and related papers on all functional areas and include both policy matters and routine business. The series is controlled by an alpha numeric subject based registration system. The operations of the university are divided into eleven functional areas and each is designated by a letter of the alphabet. Alpha and numeric indexes to the series can be found in the Archives office area.
