Series identifierMON11Series titleLibrary Committee MinutesSeries descriptionLibrary matters were originally discussed as a part of the normal business of the Committee of Deans but in 1964 it was decided that a separate Library Committee should be formed, consisting of the Vice-Chancellor and all Deans. Its main emphasis was on library funding issues, although gradually non-funding issues began to be brought before the committee. In 1965 the Professorial Board established an ad hoc committee on library matters to review the situation and seek comment from the faculties on the best system of library management. The ad hoc committee recommended the establishment of a small general library committee with wider membership. This new committee met for the first time in August 1966. The original Library Committee held its last meeting in April 1966.

There is an index at the beginning of the volume and the contents thereafter consist of roneoed copies of minutes and attached papers glued on to the bound pages. Towards the end of the volume the glued papers cease and it is the printed pages which are bound.Date range1964 - 1966Series typeUniversity SeriesLinear metreage0.07Extent (boxes)1Format, size, conditionVolume 335x250mmKeywordsBoards & CommitteesClayton
