The files were selected by Professor Taft for their historical value. Within the faculty, subjects available for the BEd and MEd degrees were divided into six, later seven, 'Areas'. Professor Taft was Head of Area One - Psychological Studies, from 1968-78 and the majority of files in the series are related to developments in this area of study. Included among these is a file related to the introduction of the Diploma in Educational Psychology for which Taft was largely responsible. Also included is a file of papers related to the Faculty Higher Degrees Committee of which Taft was Chairman.
