Series identifierMON696Series titlePsychiatric Treatment Centre filesSeries descriptionFiles related to Prince Henry's Hospital Psychiatric Treatment Centre (PTC), established in the early 1970's as a joint venture between the Department of Psychological Medicine and Prince Henry's Department of Psychiatry - Clinical and Teaching Unit. The main aim of the PTC was to provide a 'comprehensive service' for the 'psychiatric needs of all patients' so that these patients were not referred on to other facilities. When the Department of Psychological Medicine was relocated in 1987, the PTC did not move to the new premises at the Monash Medical Centre.
The majority of files are related to the work of the PTC Executive Committee. Other material includes: teaching programs, correspondence, PTC Education Committee agenda and minutes and PTC Education Sub-Committee agenda and minutes. The series also covers administration of the PTC and matters related to staffing and teaching arrangements.
