Upon the establishment of the Law Reform Commission of Victoria in December 1984, he was appointed its first Chairman, a post he held until November 1985. From then until 1992 Waller worked as a part-time Commissioner with particular responsibility for the reference on informed decision making about medical procedures.
This series is chiefly related to Professor Waller's work with the Law Reform Commission between 1982 and 1992, but includes correspondence with the Law Reform Commissioner since 1970. The bulk of the series is made up of subject files related to matters referred to the Commission by the Attorney-General. These files are arranged in alphabetical order and include correspondence, reports, discussion papers, references, and meeting papers.
