Series identifierMON722Series titleStudent Admissions and Progress Committee agenda and minutes [State College of Victoria Frankston]Series descriptionThe Studentship Committee was established as a standing committee of the Board of Studies in June 1974 (although an earlier committee had existed "to review all studentship matters" from 1971-73). Its terms of reference were to consider the methods of recruitment of students; arrange for the selection and admission of students; consider applications for deferment of courses; and to make recommendations to the Board on termination, cancellation, relinquishment, suspension, or any other action to be taken on a students' course. Membership consisted on the Academic Registrar, Heads of Departments and a student representative.

The committee was replaced in July 1976 by the Student Admissions and Progress Committee whose terms of reference were: to administer college policy and make recommendations to the Board of Studies on recruitment and admission of students; deferment; all matters relating to students' academic progress; and selection for the conversion and graduate diploma courses. Membership consisted of the Academic Registrar, Vice-Principal, one member appointed from each department, one student member and the Student Records Officer. In December 1977 the committee was adjourned indefinitely.

The series consists of agenda and signed minutes for meetings of the committee held between February 1975 and December 1977. The first volume has agenda and minutes arranged separately within the same volume with monthly tabs separating meetings. For 1977 agenda and minutes have been bound into separate volumes.
