Series identifierMON1002Series titleExecutive Committee papersSeries descriptionThe Faculty Executive was created at a meeting of the Faculty in July 1961, to conduct the affairs of the faculty between meetings of the faculty. Following the establishment of the Faculty Board in 1965 the Executive was reconstituted to become the Executive Committee of the board. Membership included heads of departments, Deans of Clinical Schools, and elected representatives of the sub-professorial academic staff. Following a review of the faculty's administrative structure in 1972, the Executive Committee was abolished with effect from the end of 1972, and the Faculty Board became the principal administrative organ of the faculty from the beginning of 1973 [FB10/72]. Its role was taken over by a new Steering Committee.
This series consists of the Faculty Secretary's files of Executive Committee papers for meetings held between May 1966 and December 1972. Files for 1967-69 and 1972 include agenda papers, correspondence and draft minutes, the remaining items in the series (ie. those in accession no. 2000/28) include copies of minutes only. Minutes are printed on green foolscap and are held loosely in manila folders. Papers for Executive Committee meetings held in 1973 are included with Faculty Board and Steering Committee papers (ref.
