Series identifierMON1060Series titleNegatives, prints and slidesSeries descriptionThis collection includes negatives of various sizes, with prints and slides, arranged in numerical order by photographers in the Department of Physics. Most of the negatives are related to lectures by Physics department staff, but also include photographs of the early construction work at the University (primarily the physics building and Monash Observatory), departmental staff and students and physics equipment. A number of these images have been included in the University Archives MONPIX database (IN2606-2613, IN5037-5093, IN5111-5203, IN5455-5609. IN5767-5838). Copies, some duplicates and unidentified images are housed in the Pix Cabinet.
The department's first photographer was Terry Martin (1961-62). He was followed by Robert Luke Bryant (1962-82).
