They include several volumes from Henry Francis, Melbourne and a volume from an unnamed chemist in Nhill. Entries are handwritten and many volumes include an alpha index to customer names. Entries in the earliest volume in the series are pasted onto pages of the volume. These prescriptions were made up chiefly by D. R. Blackett between 1863 and 1888. The same volume includes a series of Pharmacy Board examination papers for 1877-1883. Also included with the series is a volume of handwritten prescriptions maintained by chemist Henry Francis, from 1919 to 1922.
