As such he is responsible for the development of non-academic activities within the University and for the provision of facilities and catering for members of the Union and others as required.
The first Warden of the Union, Mr G.P.T. Sweeney, was appointed in 1961 and filled the position until his retirement in December 1991. In January 1995 Mr J. Curtis was appointed to the position, retitled Director of the Union. Mr Curtis continued in the position of Director of Unicomm.
