The Religious Centre Advisory Committee was established as a Standing Committee of Council on the recommendation of the former Chaplaincy Centre Committee to be responsible for the administration of the Religious Centre and keep under review the work of the chaplains in the University, and to make recommendations to Council on these and any other related matters.
Membership consists of three representatives of the Council for Chaplaincies in Tertiary Institutions (formerly the Churches Committee for Tertiary Education), four representatives of the University appointed by Council and a representative of Asian and other religions. The committee meets two or three times each year, receives reports from chaplains and student groups, and reports to Council on activities in the Centre, the work of the chaplains and any administrative matters which may arise.
