Biography
Wallace Kirsop was appointed Senior Lecturer in French at Monash in 1962, and was promoted to Associate Professor in 1967. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Sydney, and docteur de l'Universite from the University of Paris. Professor Kirsop has been a member of the Bibliographical Society of Australia and New Zealand since its inception in 1969 (President 1969-71) and numerous overseas bibliographical societies. At Monash Professor Kirsop has been the editor of the Australian Journal of French Studies since 1968; and was chairman of the Committee for the Centre for Bibliographical and Textual Studies from its inaugural meeting in 1982 to 1992. Professor Kirsop was also Director of the Monash Centre for the Book, which replaced the CBTS in 1998.
