Biography
Patricia Vickers was born in 1944 in Exeter California, USA. She received a BA in Palaeontology (University of California), and MA and PhD in Geology (Columbia University). She joined Monash in 1976 as Lecturer; then Senior Lecturer 1984-89; Reader 1989-1995; personal Chair in Palaeontology 1995-2012. In 2013 she became an Emeritus Professor. She was also the Foundation Director of the Monash Science Centre from 2002-2012. Professor Rich was Director of numerous exhibitions including: Dinosaurs from China (1982); Esso's Return of the Dinosaurs (1987-88); Kadimakara, Australia's Dreamtime Animals (1987-90); The Great Russian Dinosaurs (1993-97); Ghosts of the Great Russian Dinosaurs (1997-); Prehistoric Art - Illustrations from the Fossil Book 1993-94); Dinkus Aussie Dinosaurs (1993-94); Dinosaurs of Darkness (2000-) ; The Beginning of Animalia: Before the Dinosaurs (2006-07); and Wildlife of Gondwana (2002-). She has also been involved in the production of exhibition catalogues, text books, laboratory manuals, study kits for school age children, and popular books. Professor Rich is an elected member of the NY Explorers Club and of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences; and an Honorary Researcher for Museum Victoria and the Paleontological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

This exhibition travelled throughout Australia and internationally, and the series includes correspondence, agreements, planning and development records, photographs, slides and promotional material. Also included is a small collection of dinosaur related brochures and publications created by Professor Rich and members of her family.
