Biography

Renn Edward Wortley was born in 1947. He graduated Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from University of Melbourne in 1968. Mr Wortley was appointed as Legal Officer in 1983, which later became the position of University Solicitor in 1987. In 1993 he was seconded to the Department of Justice for two years, returning as University Solicitor in January 1995. He retired as University Solicitor in 2007 and was appointed as University Special Counsel from 2007-2010; Special Adviser (Legal Policy and Administration) 2011-2015; Special Adviser (Heritage and Tributes) 2016-2022. From 2023 he has been an Honorary Associate in the Office of the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice-President.
