Series identifierMON61Series titleFaculty of Education Faculty Board Minutes 1963-1985, 2002-2003Series descriptionThe Faculty Board under the chairmanship of the Dean is responsible for conducting the academic affairs of the faculty and includes representatives of other faculties and outside bodies. The board generally meets four times per year and may report to Council or the Academic Board (formerly Professorial Board) on matters referred by them. Between 1963 and the establishment of the faculty in 1965, the duties of a faculty board were carried out by the Professorial Board on the advice of a steering committee. The committee met four times during this period and minutes of those meetings are held within the first bound volume of the series.

The series includes the signed master set of Faculty Board minutes and attachments for meetings held between 1963 and 1977, printed on green ledger sheets and bound into volumes. The remainder of the series is made up of items 4- 8 which were found in a damaged thong binder and transferred to manila folders. Minutes in this accession include miscellaneous ledger sheets related to meetings held between 1966-70 (item 920); unsigned green ledger copies of minutes for meetings 1/73 and 1-3/78 (item 921); unsigned white ledger copies of minutes for meetings 4/78 - 5/82 (item 922); and signed white ledger copies of minutes for meetings 4/83 - 5/85 (item 923). The remaining items in the series are agenda & minutes for meetings 1/02 to 5/03. Also included is an index for meetings held between 1963 and 1969.
