This committee pre-dated the establishment of the Faculty Board and carried out the functions which later became those of the board. The committee held its last meeting in September 1965 immediately prior to the establishment of the Faculty Board which was approved by Council in September 1965. An Executive Committee of the Faculty Board was subsequently established, and this series includes papers of both committees.

The series includes minutes and attachments for Executive Committee meetings from the inaugural meeting on 26 March 1963 to its final meeting on 15 September 1965, and agenda and minutes of subsequent meetings of the Faculty Board Executive Committee. Minutes of the Faculty Executive Committee are bound into a single foolscap volume.
