Series identifierMON451Series titleCourse Advisory Committee in Social Science agenda and minutesSeries descriptionGIAE began teaching the BA degree in 1974 as part of a Victorian Institute of Colleges approved multidisciplinary degree in Arts and Applied Sciences. In 1979 the VIC Council introduced the policy of regular course review and set out policy and procedures for such course reviews. The Course Review Committee - Bachelor of Arts Degree met for the first time in September 1980. Its two main functions were course accreditation and review, and input to the course. In 1982 in accordance with VPSEC policy the multidisciplinary degree was replaced by the BA (Social Sciences). A new committee was formed its role, in accordance with Academic Board guidelines, to provide a link between the course and appropriate professionals. The committee's final meeting prior to the amalgamation with Monash was held in March 1990.

This series consists of the Secretary's copies of agenda and minutes (some of them signed) of meetings of the committee including early meetings of the Advisory Committee in Arts. Meetings 83/2 and 84/1 are missing from the series.
