Its primary duty was to advise the faculty on issues concerning the admission of candidates for higher degrees and graduate diplomas as well as the awarding of higher degrees and diplomas. This series includes meetings of the committee held between 1985-2001 together with papers of the Course & Subject Proposal sub-committee for 1997-98 and the Flexible Learning sub-committee for 1998.
In 2001, the Committee for Graduate Studies was divided into two committees - the Committee of Graduate Research and the Committee of Postgraduate Studies. This series includes papers of the Committee of Graduate Research for 2001.
