Rosser and A. George. The records were forwarded to the Archives by Professor Martin, who oversaw the project on behalf of the university between 1977 and 1992.
The collection consists of "The Banksias" Volume 1, published by Academic Press London in 1981; page proofs and plates for volumes 1 and 2; and correspondence and promotional material related to the project. Volume 1 is a dark green leather bound volume 770x550mm, with gold blocking on the front and spine. The paper is 100% rag mould made and acid free, and plates have been reproduced by a process of fine screen lithography. This volume is number 67 of a limited edition of 720 copies. Proofs for volume 1 were produced by Curwen Press, and forwarded by the publisher in 1981. These include notes for Plate 3; first proofs of 6 of the plates, printed on 15 September 1980; and second proofs of 5 plates printed on 23 January 1981. A further 6 proofs for plates included in volume 1 are undated. Volume 2 of "The Banksias" was printed by Southbank Press and published in Melbourne in 1988. Proofs of the preliminary pages and text for plates 25 to 48 are included with the series.
Correspondence and promotional material related to the publication of volume 1 was forwarded to Professor Martin by Harcourt Brace Jovanovich Ltd in May 1988.
