Volume 1 is a beige spring-back folder with numbered sheets 1-221. The contents of Volume 2 were removed from Volume 1 when pages were repaired. Page numbering continues from Vol. 1 ie.223-265. Volume 3 consists of minutes removed from Volume 4 and has been rebound with white cardboard cover and spiral binding. The minutes are typed numbered sheets 1-161. Volume 4 is a leather bound post binder holding typed pages numbered 163-724. This volume has an insert recording attendances at Council meetings held 1953-59, and is numbered 16 in the Register of Registers. Volumes 4 and 5 are indexed. The remaining volumes in the series cover the period from 1951 to the final meeting before amalgamation with Monash University on 12 June 1990. Minutes have been lightly bound into annual volumes each of which has subsequently been assigned a number within the annual single number administrative correspondence series. The numbers were apparently used to record use/movements of the volumes although they were not housed with the administrative correspondence series.
